I've always enjoyed working with children and young people in one way or another and I spent many years trying to find the perfect job. Now, I think I've cracked it!
I gained my PGCE in Primary Education in 2012 and went on to teach in a charming rural school in North Lancashire. Teaching was fantastic, but being a full time classroom teacher wasn't quite the right fit for me.
A tutor friend of mine asked me to take on one of her pupils while she took a break. It didn't take long for me to realise that being a tutor was an exciting, challenging and rewarding role in which I could really help people. I decided to take on some more pupils and I worked with families in Lancaster, Morecambe Garstang, Carnforth and beyond.
In 2016 my life (and house!) was turned upside down with the birth of my first child. With new priorities and a new timetable to work around, I gave up my day job and invested my time and effort into my tuition business. Now, I teach most of my lessons at home in my mini classroom. I'm very lucky to have support from my husband, family and friends, as well as lots of encouragement from the parents of my long-term pupils.
It's an absolute pleasure to work with children and their families. I love my job!
