Tuition with a difference

Working one-to-one with children allows me to get to know their strengths, interests, aspirations and areas for development. Each and every lesson is unique, designed to suit the child's needs and learning style. My lessons are highly interactive and I use games and tactile resources to teach and revise key concepts in maths and English. 

I teach from my home in Lancaster, Lancashire. My dedicated home-classroom is a bright, quiet and comfortable space, combining the resources of a classroom with the comforts of home. I have a wealth of resources, games and activities for children in years 3 to 6 and a small library of children's books available to all pupils.  

Tuition isn't always about making progress in curriculum subjects: for some, it's an opportunity to grow in self-confidence, building essential communication and interpersonal skills. In addition to traditional pen-and-paper lessons, my sessions can include games, art, topics and crafts, providing opportunities for conversation and boosting general knowledge.

I also work with families preparing for the 11+ entry test for the local grammar schools, offering both 1:1 lessons and small group sessions for children in year five. Prior to the test, children have the opportunity to participate in a mock test.
